Bay Leaf
Bay leaves are the leaves from the bay laurel tree. The dried leaves are used in slow-cooking soups and stews. Their almost minty flavor, with hints of pine and pepper, help to make heavy soups taste lighter. Bay leaves are commonly used in Latin American Mediterranean and Caribbean cuisines. Always remove and discard bay leaves before serving.
